SURREY Police have warned shoppers to be on their guard following two linked incidents in the town centre this week where purses have been stolen from the bags of elderly women.
The first incident occurred sometime between 11am and 11.30am on Tuesday, February 24, in Monsoon, in the Lion and Lamb Yard.
An elderly woman was shopping in the store when someone approached her and stole her purse from her partially unzipped shopping bag which was hooked on the victim's arm.
