POLICE have named the Farnham man who died following a collision at East Worldham, near Bordon earlier this month.

Choudhry Muhammad Sadaqat, 35, of Weydon Lane, Farnham, died in hospital on Friday, July 25 four days after he was struck by an HGV in Green Street on Tuesday, July 21.

The Scania lorry was on its way to the site of Britain’s biggest annual Islamic gathering, Jalsa Salana, at nearby Oaklands Farm at the time of the crash.

Mr Sadaqat’s family, who are being supported by specialist officers, have released the following tribute: “Choudhry was a good son and brother. He has left us early to return to his Creator.

“He enjoyed life and was always ready to serve his community. He is survived by his mother, father, brothers and family.”

The driver of the HGV, a 38-year-old man from Tamworth, who had been arrested in connection with this incident was released but remains under investigation.
