A SURREY Police officer appeared at Aldershot Magistrates Court on Monday, charged with the attempted rape of a female under the age of 16. Alan Skoglund, 47, of Tongham, Surrey, was charged with attempted rape and three other charges pertaining to sexual activity with the girl. Detective Constable Skoglund has been suspended from his job, which, according to a Surrey police spokesman was "an office-based role in a central unit". "The charges do not relate to any incidents when on police duty" remarked another Surrey police spokesman. Dc Skoglund was remanded in custody and will appear at Winchester Crown Court on June 1.
