THE man responsible for overseeing the controversial sale of police stations in Farnham, Haslemere and Godalming has been sacked by Surrey Police for gross misconduct.

Head of finance Paul Bundy was dismissed with immediate effect on Tuesday subject to appeal, after allegations of failure to disclose a change in personal circumstances and mishandling of internal information were proven.

The force said Mr Bundy was not subject to a criminal investigation and denied that his dismissal relates directly to the financial responsibilities of his head of finance role or to the leaking of information to the media.
