AN urgent search is under way to find a missing Petersfield man.

Police have appealed for information to help find Byron Cottee, 27, who was last seen on Grange Road in the town on Monday.

Mr Cottee is described as white, about 5ft 10ins tall, of a medium build and has brown shoulder-length hair. He also usually has facial hair but may have been clean shaven.

He was last seen wearing a dark blue waterproof Henry Lloyd jacket and white Kswiss trainers. It is believed that he may also have been wearing a white polo neck top with short sleeves and jeans and carrying a red rucksack.

Mr Cottee has links to the Portsmouth area.

Inspector Ben Taylor, who is leading the appeal, said: "We are growing increasingly concerned for Byron's welfare. I would urge members of the community to call us immediately if they think they have seen Byron or think they might know where he is. I would also appeal directly to Byron to make contact and let us know he's okay."
