POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an assault involving two brothers which took place in Farnham on Monday last week, after one had been squirted with a noxious liquid from a moving car. The brothers were walking along Hale Road around 9-40 pm when a hatchback vehicle drove past with five men on board. A man leaned out of the window, shouted and squirted liquid at them, before driving away. The liquid is believed to have been some kind of household cleaning product as it smelt of bleach and damaged the clothing of one of the victims. The pair encountered the same group of men further along the road and one of the group asked the brothers which one he had hit with the liquid and asked to shake his hand. As the victim went to comply, he was pulled forward and punched around the back of the head. He ran off, chased by two of the men, but fell over and was kicked in the legs while he was on the ground, causing further injuries. Two men came out of The Albion public house and shouted at the attackers, who ran off. The witnesses then spoke to the victim and his brother outside the pub. Police are requesting information from anyone who may have witnessed this incident, and are particularly keen to talk to the two men from The Albion.
