SURREY'S new Police and Crime Commissioner has ordered a review of the force's policy to sell police stations and buildings - offering a possible reprieve for Farnham police station.

Kevin Hurley, who was elected on November 16, believes police stations are a valuable asset to local communities and has questioned the decision to sell off all but four of Surrey's stations.
Unlike many police buildings across Surrey, Farnham police station has not yet been closed. However, it is understood Churchill Retirement Living has agreed to buy part of the property, subject to contract.
