HAMPSHIRE police officers have been out and about speaking to people across East Hampshire.

They visited Headley Road in Grayshott last Thursday and called in at Sainsbury’s in Liphook and Liss village hall.

The force says it was part of ongoing efforts by neighbourhood policing teams across East Hampshire to promote crime prevention advice about burglary, particularly “non-dwelling burglaries” affecting rural areas.

On Tuesday, June 7, teams will be out in Alton town centre between 10am and 2pm. Officers will also speak to people in Four Marks, Selborne, and Kingsley.

Chief Inspector Beth Pirie said: "These are an invaluable opportunity for our local communities to raise concerns they may have about burglary, especially in rural areas.

"While burglary levels have remained low in East Hampshire over the last year, we recognise that it is an ongoing area of concern for local residents, especially when the theft of specialised items like machinery in rural locations can have a significant impact for victims.”
