HAMPSHIRE and Isle of Wight Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Hayes has launched a public consultation before setting the policing budget and the precept, which residents pay from their council tax.
The consultation, which will run until noon on January 18, seeks residents’ views on whether the precept should be increased. In addition, views are being sought on prioritising police resources, how people contact and communicate with the police, and levels of police officers across the two counties.
