CONCERNED residents in Bramshott and Liphook have contacted police, after receiving a knock on the door after dark, from men trying to sell household items.

They introduced themselves as ex-offenders, and used ‘aggressive selling methods’.

Hampshire Police received a number of calls from concerned members of the public reporting men carrying out doorstep sales between 6.20 and 8pm, on March 12.

A police spokeseman said: “An 18-year-old man from Redcar, North Yorkshire, was stopped on Portsmouth Road and reported for summons for the offence of acting as a pedlar without a license.
