POLICE are urging local residents to be on the lookout for drugs and syringes which were stolen in a burglary at a Liphook veterinary surgery last week.
Officers at Whitehill are also seeking witnesses who saw or heard anything suspicious in the Headley Road area where the vet's was broken into overnight last Wednesday.
Police particularly want to hear from anyone who saw people or a vehicle in front of the clinic or residents of Longmoor Road who heard or saw someone in their rear garden.
They believe the thieves may have climbed over a fence between rear gardens and the clinic.
The rear double doors of The Veterinary Clinic were forced between 7 pm last Wednesday and 8-30 am the next day.
Seventeen drugs and around 50 preassembled syringes and needles were taken.
The syringes are blue and clear plastic and the drugs, all in liquid form, include opiates, anabolic steroids and hormones.
WPc Annabel Berry said: "We have sought medical advice about the missing drugs. The Valium and temgesic could be fatal in a large dose.
"Wrongly used, the other drugs can cause a variety of symptoms from irregular heart beat, raised blood pressure, bone marrow suppression, kidney damage, vomiting, aggression or unconsciousness."
Anyone with information or who finds the drugs and syringes is asked to contact police at Whitehill on 0845 045 45 45.
