A WARNING has been issued to parents after a man was overheard talking “inappropriately” to a teenage girl outside the Tesco Express in Ridgway Road.
Surrey Police received a report of a man seen acting suspiciously outside the supermarket between 7.50am and 8.10am on Thursday, June 30.
The report, which was made by a witness, alleged that the man was talking to a teenage girl outside the Tesco Express store. However, despite a number of enquiries, a victim has not yet been identified.
Neighbourhood police officers have since asked local schools to spread word of the incident, and anyone with any further information is asked to contact Surrey Police on 101, quoting crime reference number 45160056313.
In a message to parents, deputy headteacher of Weydon School Stuart Maginnis said: “I have asked tutors to speak to their tutor groups regarding the incident and remind students to keep safe when in public areas. Please reinforce this message at home.
“Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to police on 101.”
A similar message on South Farnham School’s website added: “Please could you remind your children about the importance of keeping safe when in public areas, and when walking to and from school.”
