BY-ELECTIONS for all three tiers of local government in Farnham will take place on Thursday, August 18, it has been confirmed.

Following the resignations of councillors Paddy Blagden from the Farnham Castle borough and town council ward and David Munro from Farnham Shortheath and Boundstone borough ward and the Farnham South division of Surrey County Council, requests have been received by the returning officer at Waverley Borough Council to hold by-elections to fill these vacancies.

For each by-election where more than one nomination is received, the poll will take place on Thursday, August 18, between 7am and 10pm.

Completed nominations for each of these by-elections may be submitted by appointment only between 10am and 4pm from Monday, July 18. but no later than 4pm on Friday, July 22, to the returning officer at Waverley Borough Council.

The deadline for receipt of applications to register to vote is Tuesday, August 2. Applications for postal votes must be received by 5pm on Wednesday, August 3, and applications for proxy votes must be received by 5pm on Wednesday, August 10.
