DAMIAN Hinds has been elected once again as the MP for East Hampshire.

Mr Hinds, Conservative MP for the constituency since 2010, polled 33,446 votes to Liberal Democrat David Buxton’s 13,750.

The Labour Party’s Gaynor Austin came third with 6,287 votes, while Green Party campaigner Zoe Parker polled 2,600 votes, UKIP’s Jim Makin gained 616 votes and Eddie Trotter, Justice and Anti-Corruption Party candidate, received 196 votes.

Turnout was recorded at 74.7 per cent, marginally down from 75.6 per cent in 2017.
