THE CONSERVATIVE Party has lost control of Farnham Town Council to independent party Farnham Residents.
At today’s (May 4) town and parish count, which started at 9.30am, Farnham Residents were optimistic following yesterday’s borough results, where the party won 15 seats.
And at today’s count there was even more success for Farnham Residents as they took control of the town council, winning 14 out of the total 18 seats.
Liberal Democrats were also positive ahead of the declarations, with several candidates telling the Herald they were feeling confident.
Two Lib Dem candidates, returning councillor David Attfield and Mark Merryweather, took the win in Weybourne and Badshot Lea.
And, filling the final two spots at the town council, were Conservative Party candidates Carole Cockburn in Farnham Bourne and Paula Dunsmore in Farnham Wrecclesham and Rowledge.
