A RECENT member of Labour’s shadow cabinet, the deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords and the co-leader of the Green Party will be talking collaborative politics at Godalming United Church next week.

The latest South West Surrey Compass Group meeting, titled ‘Progressive Politics Moving Forward’, will take place on Wednesday, April 19, from 7.30pm, featuring guest speakers MP Clive Lewis, Baroness Kate Parminter and Jonathan Bartley.

It offers the opportunity for questions and discussion on how political parties of the left and centre-left and unaligned progressive independents can work collaboratively together in a Tory dominated area.

Around 250 people attended the group’s previous meeting last October to hear Green Party co-leader Caroline Lucas, former business secretary Vince Cable and others discuss the question ‘Where Now for Progressive Politics?’.
