SUPPORTERS of Petersfield's 'jewel in the crown' have put on a glittering show to celebrate 50 years in business.
And people taking the plunge at the town's open-air swimming pool could have their cake and eat it – as a celebratory cake formed the centrepiece of the golden anniversary.
It's been half a century since the gates of the pool first opened to swimmers at 2.30pm on May 12, 1962.
Bosses marked the landmark by holding a gala day, with the fun starting at the exact time the pool opened 50 years ago.
Around 200 people were treated to birthday cake and a range of waterborne displays throughout the afternoon.
