LOCAL council elections on May 5 will mark the end of an era for north Farnham, with the retirement of a popular couple who have between them served the community for more than 30 years.

Janet Maines and Victor Duckett, who are both in their early 70s, say they are standing down "before we pass our sell-by dates".
