A QUESTION mark is hanging over the future of The Cherry Tree in Rowledge after the village pub was put up for sale by owners Greene King.

The brewing giant has listed the 17th century pub’s freehold interest, at the junction of School Road and Cherry Tree Road, for sale with estate agents Savills and is “inviting offers”.

In the meantime, the bar of the pub is currently open in the evenings alongside a ‘pop up’ Indian restaurant being run by the team behind the Spice Station at Farnham station.

A community group has also been set up to secure the future of the popular drinking house. Email [email protected] for more information.
