MORE than 50 scarecrows took over Shortfield Common in Frensham last month as the village’s popular Scarecrow Festival returned for another year.

This year’s event received a brilliant turn out, with an array of stalls offering face painting to candy floss.

Quizzes were held for adults and children as well as a raffle with a number of great prizes.

All the money raised on the day from selling home made cakes, raffle tickets, even mini scarecrows, was donated to several local projects such as repairs to The Church of the Good Shepherd in Dockenfield and the Royal British Legion club in Frensham.

The Hollybush pub served delicious food throughout the day and the sunny weather meant ice-creams for all.
