THE Bourne Bowls Club has presented a cheque for £625 to Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care following its annual ladies’ ‘Powder Puff’ day on Saturday, August 11.
Ladies from bowls clubs across Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex competed in the ‘spoon drive’, which was won by Chelsea Brady of Tongham Bowls Club, and the ‘ladybird’, usually named the ‘spider’, which was won by Pat Smith of Frensham Bowls Club.
The coveted Powder Puff itself was won by Lesley Smith of Rogate Bowls Club.
As well as the bowling, the ladies all enjoyed fruit punch at half time and finished the day with a cream tea. More than 60 prizes were on offer in the raffle, and a separate Champagne raffle was also held.
“We would like to thank everyone at Bourne Bowls Club and all of the ladies who travelled to Farnham to take part in this fundraising event,” said Charli Quay-Barnham, community fundraising manager at Phyllis Tuckwell.
The Bourne Bowls Club has also thanked everyone who took part and donated raffle prizes, helping to raise such a great amount of money for Phyllis Tuckwell.
