MEMBERS of the Bourne Royal British Legion Club Bowls Section have raised £500 for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, at their annual ladies ‘Powder Puff ‘day.
They were then treated to fruit punch at half time and a cream tea at the end. The event which has been running since 1998, has supported several charities including Macmillan Nurses and Chase Children’s Hospice.
Raffle tickets were on sale on the day and there were more than 80 raffle prizes in total, so plenty of winners. Running alongside there was a ‘Champagne Raffle’ consisting of a bottle of Champagne and two Champagne flutes.
The winner of the spoon drive was Shirley Bicknell of Haslemere Bowls Club, the runner up was Maggie Scrivens of Holloway Hill Bowls Club and the Powder Puff was won by Daphne Milton of Headley Bowls Club.
The ‘ladybird’ (spider) was won by Rosemary Hearn of Rogate Bowls Club and the Champagne was won by Keith Short.
Members of the Bourne RBL Club Bowls Section would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part and donated raffle prizes, we are so pleased to have raised such a great amount for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
