HASLEMERE Prep School PTA pulled out all the stops to stage a farewell fair to remember with two weeks to go before the school closes.

More than 400 guests attended the extravaganza on the town recreation ground, including parents, staff, pupils, former Haslemere Prep boys, friends of the school and ex-staff.

Among the guests was long-serving former teacher Anne Newton, who taught at the school from 1974 to 2000 and is still a close neighbour.

Guests were treated to pints of Pimm’s, a barbecue provided by The Rising Sun and live music performed by Vic Cracknell and his band, as well as the school’s own rock band.

School marketing manager Annabel Williams said. “The children were certainly not forgotten with three large bouncy castles, and lots of games.

“A huge amount of effort had gone into the event and everyone had a great time - a true reflection of what makes HPS such a special school.”
