PHYLLIS Tuckwell is to benefit from a donation of £1,000 following a fundraising quiz night organised by the civil engineering and groundwork material specialist Rudridge.
Gathering at Silvermere Golf & Leisure in Cobham, Surrey the competitors, who were made up of local businesses, were put through their paces when their knowledge of subjects including history, sport and science was put to the test as they battled for the main prize of donating the evening’s fundraising total to a charity of their choice.
The winners were announced as The Pretenders from Farnham who were victorious with a 66 points out of a total possible of 100. The team of four, who were made up of Steve Moseley, Paul Burton, Mark Bradshaw and Jason Green, chose to donate the proceeds raised to Phyllis Tuckwell – a charity which is close to their hearts.
Alan Betteridge, director at Rudridge, said: “Congratulations to The Pretenders. We are delighted they have chosen Phyllis Tuckwell as their charity of choice. It’s a remarkably worthy cause and I am sure the donation will go a long way to helping them continue the amazing work they do on behalf of the community. We would also like to thank all the other teams that took part and who helped contribute to making the evening such a success.”
