Classes from 12 schools in North East Hampshire and South West Surrey spent a day organised by Country Trust Hampshire on a farm in the region in order to learn about food production and conservation.
Following their visits the classes undertook project work based on what they had learnt on the day.
The judges visit each of the schools to view the project and to hear a presentation from pupils. The judges decided to award the 2016 trophy to St Lawrence as their display and presentation demonstrated that the farm visit had been used to enhance all areas of the national curriculum with a variety of work of a quality that was beyond what might be expected from children of their age.
The association’s secretary, Simon Fraser, presented the cup to the class at a school assembly and congratulated the pupils and their teachers on the
enthusiasm they had shown in producing a wide variety of work.
