TWO village primary schools near Petersfield have gone to the top of the class after pupils passed their Key Stage 2 exams with flying colours.

The primaries at Buriton and Langrish finished among the top schools in league tables published for Hampshire.

The national curriculum exams cover a broad range of subjects learned by most children in classes at the age of 11 before they move onto secondary education.

They include language and literacy, mathematics and numeracy, the arts, the world around us, personal development, physical education, and modern foreign languages.
