THE Lions International Blood Research Appeal (LIBRA), a blood cancer charity, is promoting a new awareness video that has been six months in the making with the help of a Bordon production company.

Working in partnership with Shoot and Splice, in Bordon, and King’s College Hospital, in London, LIBRA co-ordinated the filming and editing of the video which brings LIBRA’s fundraising story to life and can be viewed on YouTube.

The aim of the footage is to help raise awareness about the need for funds for the haematology department at King’s and to provide an insight into the groundbreaking work being carried out at the hospital. The message is clear: “Together we can help to beat blood cancers and disorders.”

Video producer Leo Mansell, director of Shoot and Splice, said: “The LIBRA video is full of interesting information about LIBRA’s charity work and why it is essential to the haematology department at King’s.

“It takes viewers behind the scenes, showing them ward areas and laboratories - places that the public wouldn’t normally see.

“We have built up a real picture of life at King’s, in terms of the development of new treatments and day-to-day patient care.”
