OPPOSITION is mounting to an outline planning application to build three two or three-storey terrace homes on a small site at the rear of No 1 Beacon House in Hindhead.
Local residents have formed an action group against development on the site and are now revving up to fight the plans.
Malcolm Carter said this week: "We are to suppose that these dwelling may be two or three-storey and are right next to bungalows allowing line of sight in to bedrooms.
"The other major issue is that no account is taken of surface water drainage, the area of these houses is a natural soakaway in winter and any disturbance to this will result in flooding to bungalows in Fairways and houses at the bottom of Grove Road."
Mr Carter claimed there were "already substantial issues on drainage in this area which have never been properly addressed by Waverley Borough Council".
And he further claimed that one neighbour "has still to remove a brick from the wall of his garage to allow floodwater to flow through to the garden".
With the formation of pedestrian and vehicle access planned, Mr Carter said neighbours on Churt Road "have no idea of how the access is going to work as no improvement to the 'shared driveway' is planned".
The proposed homes also include parking provision for three garages and additional parking spaces.
