PROTESTERS plan to bring Farnham traffic to a standstill this morning in a demonstration of the impact of thousands of new homes in the town.
The 'positive action' traffic jam has been organised by the North West Farnham Residents Association (NWFRA) and was due to start at 8.30am.
Up to 240 cars are expected to take part, which is the number of vehicles NWFRA believes will occupy a proposed 120-home development on the Beavers Road hop fields.
Participants will assemble at Three Stiles Road off Crondall Lane before following a route through the town centre to Farnham railway station.
John Williamson, a NWFRA member, said: "The objective is not to cause any problems for the residents of Farnham or those people who travel through the town from neighbouring areas but rather to demonstrate in a practical way the effect that this level of increased traffic will have on an already choked system."
