WEYDON School’s Mark Sharman was “really proud” to have represented teacher training providers on the panel of experts for the Department for Education’s ‘Get into Teaching’ live Facebook web chat earlier this month.

The Q&A session was broadcast live from the DfE’s Train to Teach Roadshow at the Congress Centre, London on Saturday, October 14 - with Mark, who oversees Weydon School’s teacher training programme Teach@Weydon, joining the panel of experts.

Ofsted recently praised Teach@Weydon for “making a strong contribution to tackling the teacher recruitment problem in this region of the south east of England” - and Mark’s high profile within the ‘Get into Teaching’ campaign can only strengthen this further.

The campaign has used Weydon staff and students to feature on campaign posters and leaflets and these were prominent at the event. One is even featured in the live chat which at the time of writing has had almost 10,000 views.

The questions came in thick and fast and the panel were able to offer some brilliant advice to those thinking of teaching. The video is still available on the Get into Teaching Facebook page or via the news section on the Teach@Weydon web page www.i2ipartnership.co.uk .

If you are thinking of teaching, Mark and the team would love to hear from you and would welcome you to one of their many information seminars or open days.
