A STELLAR collection of some of the best sprinters in the world headline the 2017 Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic, on July 30.

Arguably the best young sprinter on the planet Fernando Gaviria, Tour de France stars Michael Matthews and Andre Greipel, plus Team Sky’s reigning Olympic omnium champion Elia Viviani are all confirmed as starters.

The world’s richest one-day race is also a UCI WorldTour event for the first time – no British race has ever achieved this status, putting the Classic on the world’s highest tier.

This 103-mile route from central London will take in a climb up Leith Hill before two circuits taking in Dorking and Ranmore Common.

Riders then head to the famous ascent of Box Hill before returning to central London and the iconic finish on The Mall.

The Classic will be screened live on BBC1 from 3.30-6.30pm.
