FARNHAM-based business TeamSport, Europe’s largest go-kart provider, is opening a £1.2m state-of-the-art indoor track at Farnborough next month.
Having previously had successful tracks and a loyal customer base in both Aldershot and Camberley, this latest track, the 15th in their portfolio, is even bigger and better following TeamSports’ refurbishment of the former Royal Mail sorting office on Invincible Road.
The building, which has been vacant for almost three years, will be brought back to life and provide residents, businesses and visitors with a leisure facility which is second to none. Racegoers can expect two professionally designed tracks spanning two levels and boasting a track length of 800m, with an 18-kart capacity when combined. Reaching speeds of up to 40mph only inches above the track, all racegoers will be provided with professional race suits and helmets.
The facility also features a track-side viewing gallery, purpose-built meeting rooms for corporate customers, themed party rooms for children, and Fuel, TeamSport’s track-side snack bar.
A TeamSport spokesman said that with a wide range of specialist events and offers already planned, it’s also set to be a firm favourite for thrill-seeking stag dos, speed demon students, and budding Lewis Hamiltons.
TeamSport are creating jobs at all levels, with recruitment of team members currently under way. In all there will be up to 40 jobs up for grabs.
Farnham-based Dom Gaynor, managing director of TeamSport, said: “We are really excited to be bringing the thrill of indoor karting and our latest state-of-the-art track to this area.
“Only minutes from the M3 corridor and Farnborough train station the track will offer local residents and those from surrounding areas including Farnham, Alton, Aldershot and beyond an exhilarating new fun destination for all the family.”
