EAST Hampshire District Council is to spend £2m on turning Bordon's Quebec Barracks into a "super eco site" to make way for up to 100 homes.
The move represents the first major eco-development in the town.
But the £2m is not coming out of tax payers' pockets, but from central Government funds.
The council will be working with the Homes and Communities Agency, which has bought the site, but there is still a need for a developer to come forward with a plan before work can begin.
