NEW play equipment should be installed at Lion Green by the end of October.

Tesco has donated £12,000 towards the £30,000 scheme with the rest paid from the Haslemere Town Council budget, which was agreed at the start of the financial year.

The new equipment including a play frame, rotating seesaw and a ‘team’ swing, will cost £16,642 and a new soft play surface £13,354, including removing the old one.

However at a town council meeting , councillors voted not to include one extra piece of play equipment which would have cost £2,134 to buy and install, keeping within the original budget.
