BORDON is set to benefit from a £40,000 developerÕs contribution from the Lidl discount store for improvements to bus and cycle facilities in the town.
The money will be used to provide new shelters in Bordon, carry out footway improvements on Conde Way and develop cycle routes in the area.
It is hoped that the scheme will be implemented within the next financial year.
A spokesperson for Hampshire County Council told The Herald that the contribution is unlikely to cover the entire cost of the scheme.
She said parish councils, East Hampshire District Council, the police, bus companies and key stakeholders will be consulted on the plans.
The contribution has now been included in the county councilÕs draft capital programme for 2002 and 2003.
