A CHARITY fundraising family fun day at The Royal Anchor pub in Liphook raised more than £1,000 for Count the Kicks and 4Louis.
Supported by TV presenter Holly Willoughby, Count the Kicks raises awareness about pregnancy complications and still births.
Liphook mum Kelly Doyle, who sadly lost her baby daughter to a still birth, decided to organise a family fun day on bank holiday Saturday, which was blessed with glorious sunshine and attracted many families and friends.
The all-day event was supported by Royal Anchor manager Sam Lavender, who is also Kelly’s employer. Throughout the day and evening, families were kept entertained by live music, face painting, tugs of war, penalty shoot outs, and a bouncy castle.
Kelly, who wore a Mad Hatter’s costume, told The Herald: “I am very happy with the way it all went, and we managed to raise lots of money for the charity with additional cake sales and raffle tickets. My best friend Hannah Black helped me a lot – as did Ken Dixon, who dressed up as a horse to keep people entertained!
“I had lots of support from my family and friends. We had some lovely raffle prizes which were generously donated by local businesses - like a 28-inch TV by Banton Computers, a remote control car and plane and a photoshoot package by PRC Digital.
“It was lovely to see the day turned into a real family event, which brought people together, turning something negative into something positive for me.”
