A PUB in Farnham has been granted a temporary reprieve after Waverley Borough Council refused planning permission for six new houses last week. Tim Dunford, the owner of Wellingtons in Folly Hill, plans to sell the 19th century pub to developers Arcadia Ventures (Southern) Ltd and retire. However, the developers are first seeking planning permission to demolish the pub and replace it with two two-bed, one three-bed and three four-bed homes. Arcadia Ventures has already failed with two applications to build houses on the site of the pub – including an application for eight homes in March 2012. And Waverley councillors refused the developers' latest application last week as they argued it would result in the loss of a "community and visitor facility".
