WAVERLEY Borough Council is under fire for allegedly misleading Farnham residents over a promise to discuss the redevelopment of Farnham town centre with local representatives.

In May, when the borough council agreed to appropriate land from Farnham for the controversial East Street scheme, it also agreed to hold talks with Farnham town councillors to address their concerns.

But five months later those talks have still not materialised and last month the leader of Waverley Borough Council, Robert Knowles, accused Farnham Town Council of turning down three offers of a meeting.
