THE Wrecclesham community must be consulted before a decision is taken on Badshot Lea Football Club's controversial move to Westfield Lane, a borough council scrutiny committee has ruled.

Waverley Borough Council's decision-making executive committee approved the football club's bid for a long lease on the old Farnham Rugby Club ground last month, arguing it was the "only viable option".

But the decision was called in by the council's overview and scrutiny committee after local councillors expressed dismay that a decision had been taken without first consulting ward members and local residents.
