A GROUP of publicans have hit back at claims that they are responsible for anti-social behaviour in Alton town centre.

The members of the Alton Licensed Victuallers Association are concerned that they are being unfairly targeted as the cause of rowdy and drunken behaviour in the town centre.

The publicans believe that the excessive drinking problem is caused by others and that they are being branded as villains when in fact they are the "good guys".
