A STRUGGLING pub in a village north of Petersfield has been earmarked for housing.
Fears are growing in West Liss that Enterprise Inns are close to calling last orders at The Blue Bell Inn.
A developer has sought pre-application advice from planners about converting the pub into a six-bedroom home.
They are also keen to demolish a previous ground-floor extension and replace it with a pair of three-bedroom homes.
The developer is effectively testing the water ahead of submitting a full or outline application to the South Downs National Park Authority.
But while there's no guarantee that planners will agree to a change of use, it does raise big doubts about the pub's future.
