A PUPIL from Alresford was a lucky winner when Pudsey Bear, icon of BBC Children in Need, visited St Swithun’s Junior School this month.

Year six pupil Olivia Pickard was the winner of a Pudsey Smartie jar after being closest to correctly guessing the amount of Smarties in the jar. She guessed within four out of 429.

The game was one of many activities enjoyed by the children who had brought in donations for Children in Need and wore their own spotty accessories and Pudsey ears to tie in with ‘The Big Spotacular’ theme.

Pudsey spent some time with the youngest children in nursery and reception classes before greeting the entire school and having his photograph taken. They all thanked him for taking time out of his busy schedule to come and see everybody.
