MORE than 400 children from St Peter’s Primary School in Farnham enjoyed a gentle walk to St Peter’s Church for their annual Easter service.

The service was led by the children and focused on what it must have been like for those who were with Jesus during his last week on earth.

Headteacher Sarah Dunning said: “This was a particularly poignant service as it was the last time that we shall celebrate in church with Rev Anne Gell, who is moving on to take up a senior post at Wells Cathedral.

“She will certainly be missed by the whole of our school community as she conducts a weekly assembly and is also a key member of our governing body.”

On the following day St Peter’s held a Pause Day, coming off curriculum to reflect and learn about those who witnessed Jesus’ final days on earth.

Sarah added: “Pause Day encourages learning to be expressed through art, drama and music.

“It is a time to break from the daily lessons and reflect on the big questions surrounding Easter.”
