PUPILS at Farnham Heath End raised more than £2,000 after they took to the stage and braved the shave for Pancreatic Cancer Research, in front of a roaring crowd egging them on.

Sean Brain, Rosie Carpenter, Jack Catney, Grace Larby, Ben Parratt, Taila Shelmerdine, Luke Varley, Pacey White and Lewis Wilson, were transformed after putting themselves forward for the challenge.

Headteacher Nick Phillips said: “We did it to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer Research, I was approached in the summer by an ex-student who said can we do something to mark it.

“It’s something close to my heart, my dad has pancreatic cancer and so I did some assemblies with the children and talked about the horrible disease that pancreatic cancer is, and I jokingly said to some of them ‘and you two can have a haircut like mine and be sponsored to do it’.

“I didn’t think any of them would do it but quite a few of them did. No-one pulled out. I am very, very proud of them.”

The school would like to thank Farnham Barbers in Farnborough Road, for providing a member of staff to shave the students heads.
