YEAR two pupils at South Farnham Infants School have planted hanging baskets to brighten up The Bourne for this year’s Farnham In Bloom.

Volunteers from the Bourne Beautification Project, including Farnham Town Council leader Carole Cockburn, visited the school recently to assist with the planting.

Once matured the baskets will be hung by the Lower Bourne shops and crossroads, and will also be judged, with the winning children set to receive a prize for their efforts.

This year’s Farnham in Bloom was launched on April 26 at Forest Lodge Garden Centre, looking to build on last year’s Britain in Bloom gold-winning entry.

Judging of this year’s Farnham in Bloom will take place in July.
