PUPILS at St Nicholas’ School in Church Crookham raised £408 for the charity Jeans for Genes.
Over the 20 years of its existence, Jeans for Genes has raised millions of pounds to fund ground-breaking medical research and family support services for children diagnosed with genetic conditions such as haemophilia, muscular dystrophy and cystic fibrosis.
In the UK, one baby in every 33 is born with a genetic disorder or birth defect.
Staff and pupils at St Nicholas’ School were invited to wear their jeans and bring in a minimum donation of £1, the Year 11s organised a fundraising cake sale at morning break and school assemblies were held and video clips shown, explaining the work of the charity.
