PUPILS in year two at St Nicholas’ School in Church Crookham recently enjoyed a ‘bugs day’ to show them what life is like in year three.

The day began in the drama studio participating in various theatre games, before moving into the Pritchard Hall where they performed ‘Centipede’ poetry in groups.

Then the pupils moved into the ICT suite where they learned that a ‘bug’ in ICT is an error in a computer program.

The children created computer programs on the theme of Frozen and also helped a robot carrying Prince Olaf to complete his journey through Bugland.

Meanwhile, in art, the pupils designed ‘bug’ art, making beautiful, colourful collage butterflies.

After lunch, the children enjoyed creating a variety of rhythms based on the names of different bugs. These were then performed on percussion instruments.

The children also had a session of PE, where they played a selection of lively games.

At the end of the afternoon, the children enjoyed a delicious ‘bee’ cake in the dining room.
