FOR the fourth year running, Weydon School held its Dance Show with two sell-out performances.
The evening featured more than 140 Weydon students who put on an impressive spectacle with special performances from students at St Peter’s Primary School.
Various dance styles were included in the programme including ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, street as well as tap.
Weydon School collaborated with year five students from St Peter’s who danced to The Circle of Life from The Lion King and the year 11 boys put on an enthusiastic and polished performance to the song Can’t Touch This.
The audience were enthralled by the talent on offer and the school’s new Medici theatre came alive with the young performers who demonstrated their dance skills.
There was a range of ages, abilities and style but they all came together through dance. Naomi Richards, who helped choreograph many of the dance routines with the students, said: “I am so proud of all the students who took part.
“This year, our teaching staff also put on a great performance and showed many hidden talents. The rehearsals and hard work that went into this year’s show was evident as the performances were amazing. I would like to thank all the students and staff involved and thank everyone who came to watch the performances.”
Approximately £1,400 was raised going towards the year 11 prom and towards the development of dance within the PE curriculum area.
