YEAR six pupils at Blackmoor Primary School drove everyone batty on Shrove Tuesday.

During their annual pancake race they used bats, instead of frying pans, to carry their pancakes from the school to St Matthew's Church.

The runners were on a time trial and if they dropped their pancake while tossing it, they had to start again.

The Reverend Don Clarke was waiting to greet all the pupils with hot chocolate and hot-cross buns.
