AN ITV crew made their way back to school on Tuesday, May 8, as they joined St Polycarp’s pupils for their Daily Mile.
Among the crew was reality TV star Georgia Toffolo, known as ‘Toff’, who presented the ‘This Morning’ broadcast to the nation at around 11.15am.
As a leading school inspiring other educational establishments to run the Daily Mile, St Polycarp’s were approached by ITV to come and create a film clip promoting the positive impact of the initiative.
The aim of the scheme is to improve the physical, social, emotional and mental health and well-being of every child. As it is free to take part and does not require teacher training, any nursery or primary school can participate.
St Polycarp’s welcomed Holly Lodge Primary School, which does not yet do a Daily Mile, to join them in their run and see what’s involved.
Toff is a ‘Made in Chelsea’ star and was crowned Queen of the Jungle in the ITV show ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’. She posted a video of the children taking part in the Daily Mile to Instagram and said: “Tune in to @thismorning today to catch me hanging out with the coolest kids!
“Discussing a really great initiative, the Daily Mile wants every school child to jog or run a mile at school everyday. I think it’s a FANTASTIC idea and this lot proves it!”
